So many of my students and clients have asked me over the years what the single-most important thought-methodology is that has helped me. And there are so many, but the single thought that has helped me the most to continue to overcome hard stuff and grow is this: Nothing happens to us and everything happens for us.
These simple words, when broken down into energetic forms, create an entire shift in the way we process life, our experiences, other people, and how other people’s actions make us feel. I usually tell my students that if they can simply remember that nothing happens to them and everything happens for them… then they are well on their way to changing everything about their lives they no longer want/like/need. This mindset shift is more than half the battle. Because it takes us out of a victim mentality. It stops us from giving away our power like that. And it gives us the natural, innate courage and desire to open up to the lessons that are on tap for us to learn — even if the lessons bring forth feelings of pain, fear, shame, hurt. Because we begin to realize that the experiences are happening to help us grow, heal, and evolve. Not break us. Not stop us. But, help us.
In the video below, I share more, plus I share two powerful tools I taught myself to use, which I call The Power of the Pause and The Power of Pain. I also share two strategies on releasing the pain so that it no longer impacts your present day. I hope you find the video helpful to you.
If you are going through a struggle or working through some feelings based on what you feel others are doing to you, write to me here and tell me what’s up. I’ll record you a video response that will help you reframe your experience so that you can get your power back and heal.
